After 3 days, which included a number of events led by the elite of sports medicine specialist, the conclusion of the world’s largest conference of sports medicine ECOSEP

The conference took place from April 25 to the 27th 2024, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Mahd Sports Academy, and was organized and hosted by MOVE Center for Comprehensive Sports Medicine, which is the first facility specialized in integrated sports medicine in the Kingdom specialized in diagnosing, rehabilitation and treatment for athletes and non-athletes alike through MOVE’s global network of highly regarded specialists.
The first day of the congress was held at Mahd Academy and consisted of an emergency care course for sports injuries. The sessions and workshops kicked off over the next two days at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.The eighth Congress of the European College of Sports and Exercise Physicians (ECOSEP), the world’s largest gathering of sports medicine, was organized in Saudi Arabia for the first time with over 700 attendees from all over the world, as well as 60 speakers from 15 different countries.
Experts and specialists in Sports Medicine were present at this Congress as they imparted their knowledge and the latest research and findings in their field. This was an opportunity for the younger generations of medical professionals to access this high level of expertise which contributed to their continuous medical education.
The Congress was held through a joint effort by the private and public sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is aligned with the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision and is meant to support the progress and advancement of sports medicine and by extension, sports. Both the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Sports have endorsed this joint effort as well as many sponsors and partners from a variety of fields.

The Saudi Federation of Football was also represented at this Congress by their medical and technical staff. Olympic champion Tarek Al Hamidi, and an exceptionally gifted female athlete, Yara Abuljadayel both shared their personal experiences and achievements as well as the challenges they overcame to reach the highest level of excellence in their respective sports.
6 Workshops, 20 sessions and 22 scientific lectures were held during the Congress. Surgeries, sports injuries, the latest technical advancements in the field of sports medicine were among the covered topics.
The event was a great success as members of the sports medicine family worldwide reunited and exchanged knowledge and new ideas. The level of expertise present at the Congress makes the event the first of its kind in the Kingdom.
